The second Uzbek-Turkish Educational Forum recently concluded its plenary sessions, marking a significant step forward in fostering collaboration between the higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Turkey. The forum, held in Samarkand, brought together rectors from more than 60 universities to discuss crucial matters in a dynamic business-to-business (B2B) format. The discussions delved into crucial matters, resulting in the signing of approximately 70 agreement documents aimed at expanding mutual initiatives.
Underlining the importance of academic cooperation, the participants engaged in in-depth discussions on various aspects, ranging from educational and scientific collaboration to the training of highly qualified teachers and staff. The negotiations resulted in the signing of key documents that aim to fortify ties between the universities of the two countries.
The signed agreements encompass a wide range of collaborative efforts, including the exchange of professors, masters, and students. Furthermore, both nations committed to sending teachers on short-term internships, fostering an environment for cross-cultural learning and professional development. Joint scientific projects will be a focal point of collaboration, aiming to advance research initiatives that transcend borders.
One of the pivotal areas of cooperation highlighted in the documents is the establishment of mutual ties in the field of engineering and technology. This strategic partnership is expected to open new avenues for innovation, knowledge exchange, and technological advancements between Uzbekistan and Turkey.
The forum was inaugurated by Odil Abdurakhmonov, the Head of the Department of Social Development of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the Republican Council of Higher Education, and Erol Ozvar, Chairman of the Council of Higher Education of Turkey, emphasized the commitment of both countries to strengthening educational bonds.
