Abat Fayzullayev has been named as Uzbekistan's new ambassador to Italy Dunyo reports. The current Uzbekistan ambassador to Italy, Otabek Akbarov, is concluding his diplomatic assignment, and he will be succeeded by Abat Fayzullayev.
Faizullayev previously held the position of Uzbekistan's ambassador to Austria and served as the acting ambassador to Hungary. Additionally, he fulfilled the role of the country's permanent representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and various UN organizations located in Vienna.
Aged 40, Abat Fayzullayev pursued his education at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, completing both undergraduate and graduate programs from 2000 to 2007. In 2009, he graduated from the correspondence department of Tashkent State University of Economics, specializing in International Economic Relations.
Throughout his career, Faizullayev has occupied several positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Uzbekistan Embassy in the United States. In August 2020, he assumed his role as Uzbekistan's ambassador to Austria. In May of the same year, he was appointed as the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Uzbekistan to Hungary on a temporary basis. Prior to these diplomatic postings, he served as an assistant to the Minister, leading the organizational and control department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
