In a significant diplomatic gathering, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan joined the heads of state from Central Asian countries for a working breakfast with the Federal President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The event, held in Berlin, aimed to strengthen ties and explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation between Germany and the Central Asian region.
Leaders in attendance included President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, and the national leader of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Prior to the meeting, President Japarov made an entry in the Book of Honorable Guests, marking the importance of the occasion.
During his address, President Japarov underscored the significance of this meeting initiated by President Steinmeier, highlighting Germany's growing interest in fostering comprehensive cooperation with Central Asia. He noted that amidst global geopolitical changes, the international community's attention toward the region has surged. Central Asia has been actively engaged in regional partnerships with major players such as Russia, China, India, and Gulf countries.
"To date, Central Asia stands as a dynamically evolving region with sustainable economic growth, abundant mineral resources, water reserves, and diverse energy sources. These assets offer substantial opportunities for meaningful trade, economic collaboration, and investments that go beyond mere political declarations," President Japarov stated.
Regarding Kyrgyzstan's relationship with Germany, President Japarov emphasized the recent positive developments. There has been notable progress in political engagement, as well as in trade and economics. German investments in Kyrgyzstan's economy have been steadily increasing, reflecting the unexplored potential for further cooperation. President Japarov expressed Kyrgyzstan's hope for increased involvement of German entrepreneurs in the nation's economy.
President Japarov advocated for constructive and open initiatives between Central Asian countries and Germany across a wide range of shared agendas. This meeting serves as a testament to the growing importance of Central Asia in the global landscape and signifies the commitment of both Central Asian nations and Germany to explore avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation.
