President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has issued a decree giving Turkmen citizenship to 1,301 individuals from 32 distinct nationalities, according to the local TV station Altyn Asyr.
Furthermore, a decree has been signed permitting 265 individuals who hold citizenship from 13 distinct nations and identify with 25 nationalities to acquire residency visas within the country.
The papers were signed during a government session. These resolutions were made in compliance with worldwide responsibilities, as outlined in the UN covenants on Refugees, Stateless Persons and the Reduction of Statelessness.
In recent years, Turkmenistan has granted citizenship to 29,697 stateless individuals, and 4,753 foreign citizens and stateless persons have been given the right to reside within the country's borders.
