‘The process of Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) is to be accelerated’, the Central Asian country’s Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjaev stated at the Uzbekistan-Hungary business forum in Samarkand on Thursday (November 10).
The Head of the government department emphasized that the republic intends to become a WTO full member as its accession to the international organization is considered one of its priority reforms. Other priorities include maintaining the rule of law, ensuring judicial reforms, and combatting corruption. Besides, it is vital to ensure a timely improvement of the banking and financial systems, and privatization of large industrial and infrastructure enterprises with a state share.
The execution of public-private partnership mechanisms in implementing joint energy, transport, healthcare, and education projects would also be expanded.
