Nigeria's military has secured the release of the remaining 23 hostages from a train attack earlier this year, a defense official said on Wednesday (October 5).
Armed gangs, known locally as bandits, attacked the train near the northern city of Kaduna on March 28.
Dozens were kidnapped and six others were killed.
The kidnappers have released hostages in batches.
The government blamed the attack on Islamist insurgents Boko Haram.
Usman Yusuf, secretary to the chief of defense staff, said in a statement that the military had secured the release of the passengers.
He did not provide details.
The attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train led to the suspension of a service that was popular with passengers who feared attacks and kidnappings by gunmen on Nigerian highways.
