Uzbekistan's Professional Football League (PFL) released a statement regarding an incident that took place during the highly anticipated match between "Andijan" and "Bunyodkor" clubs on March 11. The PFL backed the decision to remove Usmanali Ismonaliev player of the "Bunyodkor" club from the game due to his inappropriate joke during the 32nd minute.
During the match, Usmanali Ismonaliyev hit Mukhammadkarim Toirov. As a result, the referee deemed Ismonaliyev's actions deserving of a red card, resulting in his removal from the game. However, Farkhod Bekmurodov, a player of the "Andijan" club, unaware of the referee's decision, influenced Toirov to intentionally fall to the ground to ensure Ismonaliyev's expulsion through the referee's intervention.
Starting from 2024, a player who incurs three warnings will face fines. Among these violations, receiving a yellow card for simulation is considered a serious offense. Even though the referee did not issue a yellow card to Farkhod Bekmurodov, it does not exempt him from possible repercussions. The PFL press service announced that the matter of penalizing Bekmurodov for his behavior will be brought before the Disciplinary Committee.
The PFL is dedicated to preserving the integrity and spirit of the sport, ensuring that players comply with the highest standards of fair play. The organization’s endorsement of Ismonaliev’s expulsion and contemplation of disciplinary actions against Bekmurodov highlight the league’s commitment to maintaining a professional and respectable atmosphere on the football field.
