In recent years, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the United States has grown fourfold, reaching nearly $1bn, highlighting the rapid development of bilateral economic ties.
During his working visit to Washington D.C., President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. The leaders discussed strengthening the strategic partnership, expanding trade and investment cooperation, and implementing joint projects across multiple sectors of the economy.
More than 300 US companies are actively operating in Uzbekistan, with significant projects underway in industry, agriculture, energy, and innovation.
Both sides expressed mutual interest in enhancing trade ties, creating mechanisms for interregional cooperation, and establishing a Coordination Council.
Agricultural collaboration received particular focus, with the first contracts signed for the supply of soybeans and cotton from the United States, alongside the introduction of advanced American drip irrigation technologies.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to boost practical cooperation through the creation of an investment platform to support joint projects, further strengthening Uzbek-American economic relations.
