A business forum between Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic was held in Tashkent, bringing together government officials and business leaders to expand bilateral cooperation.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, was attended by Prime Ministers Abdulla Aripov and Andrej Babis. More than 200 delegates took part, reflecting growing economic ties between the two countries.
Officials noted that trade turnover has doubled over the past eight years. Currently, 37 enterprises with Czech capital operate in Uzbekistan, providing a base for further partnership.
During the forum, Uzbekistan presented its recent economic performance, with gross domestic product exceeding $145bn in 2025. Czech companies signalled interest in introducing industrial and transport technologies, viewing Uzbekistan as an entry point to the wider Central Asian market.
The meeting concluded with the signing of agreements covering mechanical engineering, infrastructure modernisation and education. A financing arrangement involving the Czech Export Bank and EGAP was also reached, aimed at supporting joint high-tech manufacturing projects through preferential loans and risk insurance.
The forum ended with government-to-business and business-to-business negotiations, where companies and financial institutions discussed practical steps for implementing joint initiatives.
