President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan hosted a delegation led by Mehmet Cengiz, Chairman of Turkey's Cengiz Holding, and Cemal Kalyoncu, Chairman of Kalyon Holding. The meeting, held on June 28, focused on advancing joint projects aimed at modernizing and developing Uzbekistan's economic sectors.
The discussions pointed out the importance of accelerating the implementation of agreements reached during President Mirziyoyev's visit to Ankara, particularly highlighting the outcomes of the Uzbekistan-Turkey Business Council meeting. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress made and emphasized the need for expeditious execution of ongoing initiatives.
Key prospective projects identified during the meeting include the modernization and construction of road infrastructure, the establishment of green energy facilities, joint geological research endeavors, and the development of promising mining ventures. These initiatives are expected to significantly bolster Uzbekistan's economic landscape while fostering technological advancement and sustainable growth.
Cengiz Holding's notable contributions to Uzbekistan's infrastructure were also highlighted, with the successful completion of two modern power plants totaling 460 megawatts in Tashkent and Syr Darya regions. Additionally, ongoing efforts are underway for the construction of another power station with a capacity exceeding 500 megawatts in Jizzakh region, reflecting the company's commitment to enhancing Uzbekistan's energy sector capabilities.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of mutual commitment to deepening cooperation across various sectors, aiming to capitalize on shared expertise and resources to drive economic progress and prosperity in both nations.
