The Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS) convened the ConFEAS 2024 conference in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on April 19. This significant event, now in its fourth iteration, brought together over 200 participants from diverse sectors of the financial landscape. With a lineup of more than 40 speakers, the conference delved into six crucial topics shaping modern capital markets. These discussions ranged from the architecture of financial market infrastructures to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations.
The conference featured engaging panel discussions, each focusing on a distinct aspect of the capital market landscape. Topics included:
1. The architecture of financial markets infrastructures
2. Capital markets development trends and challenges
3. Beyond capital markets: instruments, technology, and synergy
4. Financial Intermediation: challenges and business opportunities
5. Pre- and post-trade infrastructures: driver or anchor
6. ESG and IR: concerning points
Konstantin Saroyan, FEAS Secretary General, emphasized the significance of ConFEAS 2024 as a platform for knowledge exchange and networking within the financial market industry.
Ziyoviddin Badriddinov, Chairman of the Board of the Uzbek Commodity Exchange, and George Paresishvili, Chairman of the Republican Stock Exchange "Toshkent," expressed gratitude for hosting the esteemed event. They highlighted the historical significance of Samarkand as a centre of trade and underscored the importance of ConFEAS 2024 in fostering inter-exchange cooperation and industry development in Uzbekistan.
The conference, organized by FEAS and hosted by the Uzbek Commodity Exchange and Republican Stock Exchange "Toshkent," received support from the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan and the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee of Uzbekistan.
