On October 1, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan arrived in Doha and held a meeting with Muhammad al-Hajri, the Chairman of the Board of "Nebras Power," a prominent energy corporation in Qatar.
"Nebras Power" is a renowned energy corporation headquartered in Qatar, known for its extensive portfolio of large-scale energy projects in over ten countries.
During the meeting, several significant points were discussed such as, the discussion to explore mutually beneficial cooperation, particularly in the field of energy, with a strong emphasis on alternative energy projects.
President Mirziyoyev shared that a modern power plant with a substantial capacity of 1.6 GW, based on steam-gas technologies, has commenced construction in the Syrdarya region, with the active involvement of the Qatari company. Preparations are in the final stages for the construction of a thermal power plant in the Surkhandarya region.
Additionally, both parties discussed plans to establish energy storage systems with a capacity of 600 MW in the Tashkent region. The prospect of launching a massive 1 GW wind power plant in Karakalpakstan was also explored during the meeting.
An agreement was reached to adopt a comprehensive, long-term partnership program that encompasses promising projects related to "green" or renewable energy.

Earlier Daryo reported that during the recent trip of Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of MIIT of Uzbekistan, to Qatar he engaged in a series of meetings with esteemed Qatari officials and representatives from prominent Qatari enterprises, including Muhammad al-Tani, Qatar's Minister of Investments and Industry. Additionally, discussions took place with Hassad Food, Nebras Power, FITCO Detergent, Alazizya Chemicals Factory, Qatar National Cement, Power International Holding, and Qatar's Education Above All Foundation.
