Uzbekistan's women's sabre fencing team secures the gold medal at the Asian Games in China, triumphing over Japan in the final match. This was reported by the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.
This historic victory marks their first-ever gold medal in fencing at the Asian Games. The Uzbekistan team has now amassed a total of 7 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 15 bronze medals.
Earlier, Daryo reported that the Uzbekistan national team clinched an additional three bronze medals at the Summer Asian Games in China on September 28. Vladimir Svechnikov secured a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol shooting event.
Another medal went to the Uzbekistan team in WT Taekwondo. Svetlana Osipova claimed a bronze medal in the +67 kg weight category. In a hard-fought semi-final, she was defeated by China's Zeki Zhou.
Moreover, the youth (Olympic) national football team of Uzbekistan emerged victorious against Indonesia in the 1/8 finals of the Asian Games. The match, held on September 28 in Hangzhou, China, concluded with a score of 2:0.
