First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Roman Sklyar, played a significant role in the opening ceremony of the China-Europe Railway Express Cooperation Forum, in Lianyungang city. The event, hosted at the invitation of the Chinese government, aimed to bolster cooperation and innovation in global transport logistics.
Roman Sklyar, representing Kazakhstan at the prestigious event, delivered an address on behalf of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. In his speech, Sklyar emphasized the forum's importance, especially given the current geopolitical tensions worldwide. He highlighted the pivotal role of transportation in fostering sustainable economic growth and underscored the event's objective of generating fresh ideas for optimizing global transport logistics.
"This event endeavors for fresher ideas to develop and optimize global transport logistics, open new directions, and use modern technologies," remarked Sklyar.
The forum saw the participation of Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang from China's State Council, who engaged in a bilateral meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Sklyar. Their discussions spanned a wide spectrum of topics, encompassing trade, economics, transit, transport, and investment—key areas of collaboration between Kazakhstan and China.
Furthermore, Sklyar held meetings with Xu Kunlin, the Governor of Jiangsu Province, and the heads of prominent Chinese companies involved in industrial, transport, logistics, metallurgical, and construction sectors. Notable companies included CRRC Group, XCMG Group, Ace Group, China Xinxin Group, and China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co.
As part of his visit, Sklyar toured the Kazakh-Chinese logistics terminal located in the Lianyungang port—a vital hub within China's extensive transport, logistics, and industrial network.
In a significant development, the forum officially launched a dedicated website aimed at facilitating the exchange of information related to the China-Europe Railway Express. The platform will provide comprehensive one-window services for both Chinese and overseas customers, including information exchange and integration. It will also disseminate official news and statistics concerning China-Europe express freight services, ultimately guiding foreign trade enterprises and logistics platforms in their pursuit of international trade and supply chain services.
Kazakhstan's active participation in the China-Europe Railway Express Cooperation Forum underscores its commitment to enhancing regional and global connectivity and promoting economic growth through advanced transportation solutions. This event serves as a testament to the fruitful collaboration between Kazakhstan and China in the realm of trade, logistics, and infrastructure development.
