Kyrgyzstan's karatekas have once again displayed their prowess on the international stage, securing an impressive haul of 12 medals at the WKF Kazakhstan Open 2023, a prestigious Karate-Do Tournament held in the vibrant city of Astana. The victory comes as a testament to the skill and dedication of these martial artists.
The Bishkek City Hall's press service enthusiastically reported the accomplishments of the Kyrgyzstani athletes, which included one gold, four silver, and seven bronze medals. This remarkable achievement underlines their relentless pursuit of excellence and their ability to compete at the highest level.
In a stunning performance, Nazim Nurlanov emerged as the standout athlete, securing the top position in the fiercely contested category of up to 75 kilograms. The silver medals were no less impressive, with Umida Aisaeva, Rostislav Kovylin, Nurtilek Beishembaev, and Nurai Beishembayev showcasing their skills in the weight category up to 50 kilograms.
The list of bronze medalists was equally impressive and included Rafael Akbarov, Nazim Nurlanov, Umida Aisaeva, Sitora Rasulova, Dayana Derya, Sizim Esenkulova, and Mukhammed Ilyasov. Each of these athletes demonstrated exceptional talent and determination throughout the tournament.
The WKF Kazakhstan Open 2023 witnessed fierce competition, featuring more than 600 athletes from various countries, including France, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and, of course, Kyrgyzstan. The tournament was a platform for these martial artists to showcase their skills and compete against some of the best in the world.
Representing the Kyrgyz Republic were 29 athletes from the Karate-Do Federation. Their collective performance not only brought pride to their nation but also highlighted the growing strength of Kyrgyzstan in the world of martial arts.
