An Italian company named Arsenale Group has offered to launch luxury train services to the historical cities of Uzbekistan, press service of the Ministry of Transport reports.
On July 31, Arsenale Group company representatives met with Uzbekistan's Ministry of Transport representatives at the headquarters of the ministry's building. Within the framework of the discussion, topics of cooperation in the field of transport were discussed, as well as proposals for launching a luxury tourist train to the historical cities of Uzbekistan were brought up. It was proposed to run the train on the route Tashkent-Samarkand-Bukhara-Khiva-Tashkent.
Arsenale Group has created three train projects but they are yet to start operating. One project is in Italy, another in the UAE, and the third in Saudi Arabia. The company offers the comforts of a highly-rated hotel, with an exquisite menu, lounges, and deluxe rooms. Trains in all countries travel across tourist zones and UNESCO heritage areas with the shortest trip lasting 1 night. The services are planned to be launched in 2024 in Italy.
After the discussion, representatives of the Italian company familiarized themselves with the central railway station of Tashkent, and the passenger car construction and repair plant.
In June, Uzbekistan signed a deal with another Italian company for the production and delivery of 4 sets of "Afrosiyab" high-speed trains. The trains mainly connect the capital city Tashkent with other regions of Uzbekistan.
