Tsaritsyno Museum in Russia's capital Moscow is now offering excursions in the Uzbek language, media reports.
The museum is set to present over 1,000 works from its collection, including unique crafts from various cultures, such as rare Uzbek ornaments, sealeys, and suzannes. These works have not been exhibited before and will be showcased in the nine halls of the Grand Palace complex. The first tour is scheduled for Saturday as part of the "In Search of Folk Art" exhibition.
"Tsaritsyno" is a state museum-reserve encompassing a palace-park ensemble, park museum, greenhouse, ponds, and various exhibitions, including Russian sculpture and European paintings. Its crown jewel is the grand palace complex, built in the XVIII century as a country residence for Catherine II. The construction of the palace complex spanned over two decades and was designed by the renowned Russian architects Vasily Bazhenov and Matvey Kazakov.
A few years back, the museum came up with the idea of offering tours in Central Asian languages. As a pilot project, Uzbek language tours will be available till the end of 2023.
