The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has approved the draft bill "On the procedure for issuing a lawyer's certificate".
Now, to get a lawyer's certificate, an applicant can apply online instead of a visit the judicial body to submit an application, submit additional documents, and visit the judicial body again to pick up the license after it has been issued.
The project envisages the following benefits:
- Applying for a lawyer's certificate online. If a lawyer has newly established a legal company, he is not required to apply for a lawyer's license. The certificate is issued to him automatically by composite service.
- It will be possible to obtain a lawyer's certificate without going to the certifying body. At the request of the lawyer, the attorney's certificate is sent by mail to the address of the attorney's office.
- The attorney's certificate is issued in the form of an ID card with a QR code.
- By scanning the QR code, it is determined who issued the attorney's certificate, the attorney's status, the name of the attorney's office where the attorney works, the attorney's speciality, the license number, and the date of issuance. It is not required to reissue the certificate when the lawyer's speciality and operating structure change.
