On July 13, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the delegation headed by the chairman of the Islamic Council Assembly Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
The head of state noted the active dialogues and fruitful exchanges that serve to continue the mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran at a high speed and expand it in priority directions.
Since the beginning of this year, the exchange of goods has increased by 40%, and the number of joint ventures and projects has exceeded 360.
The Chairman conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the President of Iran Ibrahim Raisi to the leader of Uzbekistan and noted that the Iranian side is determined to strengthen the wide-scale relations between the friendly countries and enrich them with practical content.
The officials agreed to continue the effective inter-parliamentary dialogue in order to implement agreements and promote promising projects of mutually beneficial cooperation.
They also exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan noting the importance of support for achieving long-term peace in this country and its socio-economic recovery.
