Uzbekistan has imported its third Hyundai Rotem high-speed passenger train from South Korea, according to "Temiryo‘lkargo" JSC. The train was transported from the manufacturer's facilities in South Korea to Uzbekistan under a door-to-door logistics arrangement.
The company said the introduction of modern Hyundai Rotem trains is expected to improve the quality of passenger transportation services and support the development of domestic tourism.
The latest delivery follows the arrival of the first Hyundai Rotem train, which departed from Masan Port in Changwon, South Korea, on December 10, 2025, and reached Uzbekistan in February 2026.
Named Jaloliddin Manguberdi, the train is 175 meters long and can accommodate nearly 390 passengers across VIP, business and economy classes. The seven-car train is capable of reaching speeds of up to 260 kilometers per hour.
In May, the train entered service on the Tashkent–Urgench–Khiva route.
Transport Minister Ilhom Mahkamov previously announced plans to purchase six Hyundai Rotem high-speed trains. The first train's deployment on the Tashkent–Urgench–Khiva corridor reduced travel time from approximately 14 hours to 7.5 hours.
The Ministry of Transport has also said it is working on introducing Hyundai Rotem services on routes connecting Tashkent with Andijan and Termez.
