President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a series of construction projects aimed at developing tourism, transport, and social infrastructure across Uzbekistan.
The initiatives are designed to match the country’s high economic growth, expanding international cooperation, and rising status as a center for business and tourism.
During the presentation, officials showcased innovative plans in multiple regions. In Khiva, a new Congress Center and a historical and ethnographic park are planned to host international conferences and attract more tourists. A Confucius Institute and Luban Workshop will provide opportunities for cultural and educational events and train young people in modern professions.
The modernization of Urgench International Airport was also highlighted. Plans include expanding infrastructure, improving passenger and cargo services, and constructing a dedicated railway line from Urgench railway station to the airport to enhance transport convenience. Upgrades to the Urgench-Khiva highway, along with a new alternative route, were also presented.
In Fergana, a new expo center is set to support international exhibitions, business forums, and major events, aimed at boosting the region’s investment appeal. The proposed Burkhoniddin Margilani Research Center will focus on spiritual heritage and scientific research, establishing an international-level scientific school.
Education and sports are also key priorities. Plans include a modern campus for Bukhara State University to provide a comfortable learning environment for professors and students, and a state-of-the-art rhythmic gymnastics complex in Tashkent to nurture young athletic talent.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards in quality, convenience, and urban planning, while ensuring that projects meet the needs of the population. He issued instructions to responsible authorities to ensure the successful implementation of these initiatives.
