Representatives of Russian regions and companies presented proposals for new projects across a range of industries, outlining plans to deepen practical cooperation between the two countries during a meeting with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on April 20.
The Uzbek leader received a delegation headed by Denis Manturov, who is visiting Tashkent to take part in the INNOPROM. Central Asia.
The meeting was attended by leaders of several Russian regions, including Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, and others, as well as executives from major industrial companies.
At the beginning of the talks, Manturov conveyed greetings from Vladimir Putin.
Mirziyoyev noted the successful organization of the sixth INNOPROM exhibition, which has brought together more than 10,000 business representatives from 35 countries.
Discussions focused on the implementation of agreements in trade and economic cooperation. Both sides highlighted steady growth in bilateral trade and ongoing joint projects in sectors such as industry, energy, transport, metallurgy, and chemicals.
The importance of maintaining trade momentum and accelerating cooperation projects in priority sectors was emphasized, including through industrial zones and expanded regional and business contacts.
The sides also supported plans to develop cooperation in areas such as agricultural machinery, energy efficiency, water management, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
Particular attention was also given to training engineering specialists for key sectors of the economy through joint technical education initiatives.
