At the Uzbekistan–China Business Forum in Tashkent, Ilzat Kasimov, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan (MIIT), met with Li Jun, Deputy Governor of Shaanxi Province of the People’s Republic of China, to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation and preparations for the Third Uzbekistan–China Interregional Forum, official channel of MIIT reports on March 4.
The meeting focused on strengthening the Uzbekistan–China strategic partnership and enhancing interregional cooperation. Both parties emphasized the importance of the Shaanxi delegation’s visit in coordinating organizational and substantive aspects of the upcoming forum. It was also agreed that an Uzbek delegation would visit Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, as part of the preparatory measures.
The Third Uzbekistan–China Interregional Forum is scheduled to take place in May 2026 in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province. The forum is expected to host approximately 2,000 participants, including representatives from ministries, government agencies, and business communities from both countries.
Discussions also addressed the expansion of industrial cooperation and the launch of joint projects in the chemical, textile, and oil and gas sectors. The parties highlighted the need to establish a sustainable platform to facilitate direct business-to-business engagement between Uzbek and Chinese enterprises.
Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to maintain regular coordination to ensure consistent preparation for the forum.
