Uzbekistan and Mongolia have taken a step toward deepening bilateral relations, as President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh signed a joint declaration on establishing a comprehensive partnership following high-level talks in Ulaanbaatar, the Uzbek presidential press service reported.

The agreement marks a new phase in Uzbekistan–Mongolia cooperation, reflecting the shared commitment of both countries to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties.
The joint declaration lays the foundation for long-term collaboration across a wide range of sectors and is seen as a strategic move to enhance regional integration and development.

In addition to the joint declaration, a series of intergovernmental and interagency documents were signed in the presence of the two leaders.
These include agreements on cooperation in the fields of plant quarantine and protection, higher education, mining, environmental protection, crime prevention and control, healthcare and medical science, as well as physical education and sports.

A protocol on cooperation was also signed between the national archival departments of Uzbekistan and Mongolia. This aims to promote knowledge exchange and preserve historical and cultural records between the two countries.
Several sectoral cooperation programs were formalized, including one between the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Economy and Development of Mongolia.

Additionally, the foreign ministries of both countries agreed on a program of cooperation for 2026–2027. The Ministries of Culture also signed a cooperation plan covering 2025 to 2028, which aims to promote cultural exchange and youth engagement.
Agricultural collaboration was another focus area, with the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia adopting a plan to expand cooperation in the agricultural sector.
Furthermore, an action plan in the field of ecotourism was signed between the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia. This plan highlights both countries' interest in promoting sustainable tourism and environmental conservation.
