Malaysian company Five Petroleum has announced plans to establish a network of filling stations in Uzbekistan, according to a report from the press service of Uzbekneftegaz. The initiative aims to introduce modern technologies and international standards to improve both product quality and service in the country’s fuel sector.
The Chairman of Uzbekneftegaz, Bakhodirjon Sidikov, met with the CEO of Five Petroleum to discuss the details of this potential venture. The talks also included the creation of transport and logistics infrastructure across various regions of Uzbekistan, a move that will support the development of the planned gas station network.
In addition to expanding the gas station infrastructure, the two parties agreed to deepen their collaboration on projects of strategic importance for the Uzbek fuel and energy sector. The goal is to introduce innovative solutions and meet international standards, ultimately benefiting the country's growing energy market.
Earlier in July 2024, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Malaysia, alongside King Lim Chin Fui, the founder and CEO of Five Petroleum, discussed the investment opportunities in Uzbekistan. They also explored projects in the Samarkand region, which include the potential for further collaboration.
Five Petroleum, established in 2020, currently operates over 110 petrol stations in Malaysia. The company also holds a majority stake (60%) in BHPetrol, which operates more than 400 petrol stations across the country. The expansion into Uzbekistan marks a significant step in the company's regional growth plans.
