A new sports competition system for teenagers and young people will be launched in Uzbekistan in 2025, following a presidential decree. The initiative introduces a three-stage national championship called the “Olympic Peaks of New Uzbekistan.”
The competitions will involve athletes trained by individuals and organizations that regularly engage youth in sports. Winners of the regional stage will qualify for the final round, known as the "Presidential Olympics," held annually in the Olympic Village from December 10 to 20.
Athletes who advance to the final round will compete for top honors and valuable awards, including cars and houses.
Top-performing athletes will also earn opportunities to continue their development in specialized sports training institutions:
- Second-place winners will be admitted to the Republican training center for Olympic and Paralympic sports.
- Third-place winners will continue their training at regional Olympic and Paralympic centers.
The Presidential Olympics initiative was first announced during a videoconference in February 2025. Authorities emphasized that the new competition system would support the country’s goal of building a strong pipeline of athletes for future international competitions.
The annual event is expected to become a major platform for identifying and nurturing sports talent across the country, offering young people not just recognition but tangible support for their athletic and personal development.
