Uzbekistan-based start-up airline Centrum Air is set to expand its operations with the introduction of four new destinations over the next two months, aiming to enhance connectivity and boost tourism.
Starting from October 11, Centrum Air will commence weekly flights from Tashkent (TAS) to Termez (TMJ), a gateway to the Golden Triangle tourist route in the Surkhandarya region. Additionally, the airline will resume its flights from Termez to Moscow (VKO) on October 18, also operating on a weekly basis.
In further expansion, Centrum Air will introduce a direct route from Tashkent to Tel Aviv (TLV) starting on October 29. This new route to one of Israel's key cultural and economic centers will run twice a week. Following this, on November 22, Centrum will begin twice-weekly flights from Tashkent to the Malaysian island of Langkawi, a popular tourist destination.
Looking ahead, the airline has plans to offer tickets for flights from Tashkent to additional destinations, including Guangzhou (China), Phuket (Thailand), Phu Quoc (Vietnam), and several others, "in the near future," according to the company.
The current limited frequency of flights is attributed to Centrum Air's fleet modernization efforts. The airline has decided to operate only new-generation Airbus A321neo aircraft. Currently, it has two of these aircraft, with a third expected by the end of the year. By 2025, Centrum Air anticipates a significant boost in capacity, with the addition of nine narrowbody aircraft.
At present, Centrum Air's scheduled routes cover key destinations such as Dubai, Urgench, St. Petersburg, Jeddah, Samarkand, Tbilisi, and Batumi.
