The 'Be Woman' Forum, aimed at empowering and celebrating women across Central Asia, commenced on March 5 with a wave of inspiration and enthusiasm. This momentous event brought together female leaders, entrepreneurs, and activists from various sectors to share insights, experiences, and foster solidarity.
Among the influential voices that resonated during the inaugural session was Zhanna Kan, a prominent Kazakh entrepreneur and philanthropist. Kan emphasized the paramount importance of equality between men and women, rejecting the notion of pitting genders against each other.
"We have common tasks and values, we have a common history, we breathe the same air, we live on the same earth," she remarked, encapsulating the essence of unity and collaboration.
In a panel discussion focusing on 'Women's Leadership in Central Asia,' speakers from all five Central Asian countries converged to discuss their respective journeys and challenges. Kan, while sharing her philosophy of balancing entrepreneurship with family life, highlighted the misconception that success in business necessitates sacrificing familial roles.
"If I'm doing business, it doesn't mean I'm free from being a wife and a mother. I want to be the best at both—it's not an obligation, it's a privilege for me," she asserted, inspiring attendees to perceive their roles as multifaceted opportunities rather than constraints.
Gulshat Petrosova, the founder of the "Woman in Business" community from Turkmenistan, echoed Kan's sentiments, emphasizing the power of unity in overcoming challenges.
"Women face the same challenges and difficulties, and if we unite, we can solve these together," she affirmed, underscoring the significance of solidarity in fostering collective progress.
With over 30 guest speakers hailing from Central Asia, Russia, and the USA, the forum promises a diverse range of perspectives and insights. Topics such as 'culture and creativity,' 'women's entrepreneurship,' and 'women and philanthropy' are slated for discussion, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted roles women play in society.
Moreover, the event features esteemed guest speakers such as American entrepreneur Wendy Diamond and Russian personality Alexey Sitnikov, offering invaluable insights and experiences from a global perspective.
Taking place at Tashkent's Intercontinental Hotel, the forum has attracted over 500 participants, underscoring the widespread enthusiasm and support for women's empowerment initiatives in the region. In addition to thought-provoking discussions, the event showcases performances from dancers, singers, and live musicians, further enriching the cultural tapestry of the gathering.
