Karomidin Gadoyev has been designated as the new ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia, Dunyo reports. Formerly serving as the deputy head of the Department of Cooperation with the UN and other international political organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gadoyev, aged 59 and hailing from Kumushkent in the Bukhara region, brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
A graduate of Tashkent State University's Faculty of Geography (now the National University of Uzbekistan) with a Ph.D. in Geography, Gadoyev has been part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1995, holding various positions within the central apparatus, the Uzbekistan mission in NATO, and the embassy in Brussels.
With the distinguished diplomatic rank of a first-class advisor, Gadoyev succeeds Ravshan Usmanov, who served as the ambassador to Malaysia from 2018 to 2023. Following this appointment, Ravshan Usmanov has assumed the role of ambassador for Uzbekistan in Great Britain.
Earlier it was reported that Sarah Walsh assumed her duties as New Zealand's ambassador to Uzbekistan and presented her credentials to Bakhtiyor Saidov, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Uzbekistan.
