President Sadyr Japarov of the Kyrgyz Republic engaged in significant discussions with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Suhail Al Mazrouei, during his working visit to Dubai.
The talks focused on strengthening cooperation between the two nations, particularly in trade, economics, investment, and energy. President Japarov expressed gratitude for the invitation to the High-Level Segment of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change hosted by the UAE. Acknowledging the UAE's progressive initiatives in combating climate change, Japarov anticipated concrete outcomes from the summit.
Underlining the importance of strong ties, President Japarov highlighted the potential for collaboration in the field of hydropower. He pointed out that the signing of a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding involving the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, the Masdar company, and the French company Electricité de France would pave the way for promising prospects in the hydropower sector.

Despite possessing significant energy potential, only 13% of Kyrgyzstan's water and energy potential has been developed. The president emphasized the importance of leveraging green technologies and advancing renewable energy sources.
In response, Minister Suhail Al Mazrouei expressed gratitude to President Japarov for accepting the invitation to the upcoming Summit and conveyed warm greetings from the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Al Mazrouei delved into the specifics of joint projects in energy, hydropower, and renewable energy sources, particularly those involving the Masdar company.
Thanking President Japarov for his support, Al Mazrouei expressed confidence in the success of the projects and their potential to attract substantial investments to Kyrgyzstan. He also indicated the UAE's willingness to share its experience in the energy sector and provide necessary consultations. The minister emphasized his personal commitment to overseeing the progress of projects outlined in the Memorandum signed with the Kyrgyz side.
