In a grand finale to the Asian Paralympic Committee's (APC) awards for the year 2023, a ceremony was held in the capital city of Riyadh, marking the culmination of celebrations and recognitions within the Paralympic community.
Among the distinguished awardees, the Vice-President of the Asian Paralympic Committee and Chairman of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan, Mukhtarhan Tashkhojayev, was honored for his significant contributions to the advancement of the Paralympic movement in Uzbekistan and across the Asian continent. Toshkhojayev's unwavering commitment to fostering inclusivity and excellence in Paralympic sports merited the prestigious Asian Order.
Additionally, Asila Mirzayorova, an athlete with an impressive track record, received the title of "Best Female Para-Athlete" of the continent. Mirzayorova's achievements include securing a medal at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games, claiming the title of world champion, and emerging victorious at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games.
Asila Mirzayorova defended the honor of Uzbekistan in the women's T11 class long jump and recorded the best result with a result of 5 meters 13 cm and won the gold medal at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games.
