Kyrgyzstan’s health minister, Almalyk Beishenaliev, and Russia’s health minister, Mikhail Murashko, held a meeting for Cooperation in Healthcare. The two parties dsicussed cooperating in the pharmaceutical sectors and supplying medicine for Kyrgyzstan. Beishenaliev stated that Kyrgyzstan is partnering with Russia and intends to further establish various joint projects, and work with intergovernmental organizations to enhance Kyrgyzstan's healthcare and medicine.
Kyrgyzstan and Russia successfully partnered with Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, focusing on nuclear medicine, including radiation therapy for treating oncological diseases. In June 2023, Russia’s Rosatom started working in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the National Center for Oncology and Hematology in Kyrgyzstan to enhance nuclear technologies in healthcare.
They have developed a radiopharmaceutical center, a center for molecular imaging, and a center for targeted therapy, and the two parties strive to harness nuclear technologies to find cures for cancer. Murashko noted the vitality of holistic approaches to the development of healthcare systems, while also pointing out Russia’s growth in producing their own medicine. For instance, for cancer patients, Russia has developed its combined action drug for cancer diagnostics and treatments to be self-sufficient and to reduce imports.
Thus, during the meeting that was held, both ministers agreed to collaborate and establish medical training, supply medicine, bring ties with medicine manufacturers, and so forth.
Both ministers agreed to boost collaboration in medical personnel training, pharmaceuticals, medicine procurement, and establishing direct connections with medical equipment and drug manufacturers.
