The Tashkent State Dental Institute (TDSI) has taken a monumental step forward by establishing a collaborative partnership with the prestigious Columbia University of the United States. This historic development was marked by an official visit from Columbia University's Dean, Professor Christian Stohler, who engaged in a roundtable discussion with TDSI's students, young specialists, and professors.
Columbia University, renowned for its illustrious history, was founded in 1754 and is currently ranked 23rd in the international QS ranking. The university boasts a diverse and comprehensive academic landscape, featuring 17 faculties, three scientific research institutes, four colleges, 26 libraries, 200 scientific centers, and three state-of-the-art clinics. Throughout its rich history, Columbia has nurtured the talents of 84 Nobel laureates, over 100 prominent figures in the realms of science and culture, and approximately 10 former heads of state among its alumni.
The meeting between Professor Christian Stohler and TDSI's representatives culminated in a landmark agreement. Under the terms of this agreement, an academic exchange program will be initiated, enabling 30 talented students and 10 educators from TDSI to embark on academic journeys at Columbia University. Additionally, five doctoral students from TDSI will have the invaluable opportunity to pursue internships in various scientific fields at Columbia, fostering a dynamic cross-cultural exchange of knowledge and expertise.
The collaboration between TDSI and Columbia University promises to open new doors of opportunity and elevate dental education, research, and innovation to new heights. The cooperation paves the way for greater academic and research achievements in the field of dentistry, while simultaneously strengthening the bonds of global education and collaboration.
