Zabihullah Mujahid, serving as the chief speaker for Taliban, expressed his appreciation for recent statements made by the President of Uzbekistan, highlighting the significance of cooperation among neighboring nations in fostering peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Mujahid emphasized the importance of robust diplomatic relationships between neighboring countries and the Islamic Emirate for the sake of achieving and maintaining peace and stability.
"The region should extend its assistance to Afghanistan in its current state of stability and demonstrate cooperation while averting problems, whether real or perceived. Additionally, it is imperative to reestablish strong diplomatic ties with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan," Mujahid conveyed to TOLOnews.
Previously, during a meeting of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev underscored the critical necessity of peace and stability in Afghanistan for regional peace.
Mirziyoyev, during the meeting, stressed the importance of not neglecting Afghanistan in the current situation.
He stated, "The establishment of peace and tranquility in Afghanistan, a nation with a history and destiny deeply intertwined with the Turkish people over thousands of years, is the primary requirement for ensuring strategic stability and security in our region. However, amid the ongoing conflicts in various parts of the world, the attention of the international community has significantly waned."
The Turkish president also acknowledged the vital role of Afghanistan in ensuring regional security.
"As the world continues its efforts to secure the entire continent, Afghanistan, as a member of the world, holds significant importance in this regard," noted Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Turkey.
President Mirziyoyev additionally pledged humanitarian aid through the logistics center in Termez and the continued training of Afghan citizens.
The 10th summit of the Organization of Turkish Nations convened in Astana on November 3.
