In anticipation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Germany, a new ambassador of Uzbekistan, Dilshod Akhatov, has arrived in Berlin.
Dilshod Akhatov, aged 51, served as the head of Uzbekistan's embassy in India since 2020. He is a graduate of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
Beginning his career as an intern in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he climbed the career ladder, eventually becoming the head of a department and the Chief Directorate, then serving as Deputy Foreign Minister.
Between 2010 and 2013, he previously held the position of ambassador to Germany, concurrently representing Uzbekistan in Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Sweden, and Spain.
Dilshod Akhatov replaced Nabi Khazimov as the ambassador in Berlin, who had held this position since 2017.
From September 28 to 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to Berlin. He is scheduled to hold negotiations with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Additionally, a meeting of the heads of Central Asian states and Germany will take place here.
