Yerzhan Birzhanov, the Deputy Finance Minister of Kazakhstan, on September 7, provided insights into the country's primary exports to Türkiye, media reports.
He specifically highlighted the exportation of metals, comprising zinc and copper, as among the key commodities.
We export zinc and copper to Türkiye while importing textiles, machinery, equipment, and other consumer goods,

The Deputy Finance Minister also discussed the current percentage of customs discrepancies, which stands at 0.8% of the turnover, equivalent to $12mn annually. Birzhanov emphasized the importance of receiving advance information to help eradicate any discrepancies.
Earlier, Daryo reported that Kazakhstan and Türkiye have agreed to streamline customs procedures for exporters by simplifying formalities and reducing inspections, with the exception of suspected smuggling cases. Türkiye is one of Kazakhstan's largest trade and economic partners, with last year's bilateral trade volume exceeding $6bn.
