Mohammed Al-Fayed, the Egyptian tycoon whose son tragically perished in a car accident alongside Princess Diana, has passed away at the age of 95.
According to Euronews, Al-Fayed was originally from Egypt but spent numerous years living in the United Kingdom, where he managed various business ventures. He held ownership of Fulham Football Club, the renowned Ritz Hotel in Paris, and the prestigious Harrods department store in London.
Notably, Mohammed Al-Fayed vehemently disagreed with the official account of his son's demise, contending that the crash had been orchestrated. Investigations, however, ultimately concluded that the fatal accident resulted from the reckless driving of their chauffeur, an employee of the Ritz, and relentless pursuit by paparazzi. Separate inquiries conducted in both the UK and France corroborated that there was no substantiated conspiracy.
A statement released by the family revealed that Mohammed Al-Fayed passed away peacefully from the natural process of aging. "He enjoyed a lengthy and satisfying retirement, surrounded by close family members," the statement conveyed.
