During the 32nd anniversary of the independence celebration, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that 500 English language specialists from abroad will teach in local schools for the upcoming academic year.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that economic independence is the basis of political independence and that education is the solution to any problem and the 'determining factor of our tomorrow.'
The development of the education sector was noted as the priority task.
In the last six years, the volume of the gross domestic product in Uzbekistan has increased by more than 1.5 times. Additionally, the number of business entities has increased twofold, and the growth in the industry has exceeded 40%.
Poverty has also been reduced by more than two times in a short period.
The president has launched major projects to improve healthcare and business development, improve the judicial system, and solve water and energy problems to achieve high results.
As a result, 72 new schools were built, 279 were renovated, 514 were reconstructed, and more than 30,000 computers were purchased for schools.
Primary school students will study according to new programs and textbooks developed based on advanced foreign experience.
The president emphasizes that these defined priorities will be the center of the constant attention.
