The presumed demise of Yevgeny Prigozhin and other members of the "Wagner Group," who crashed in the Tver region, has been addressed by the Kremlin.
According to Euronews, the Kremlin has explicitly stated that it has no involvement in the incident.
"Absolute falsehood" and "speculation," is how reports about the Kremlin's connection to the incident were dismissed by Vladimir Putin's Press Secretary.
Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson, emphasized the importance of awaiting the outcomes of the aircraft crash investigation and genetic testing before drawing conclusions.
The current situation involves a multitude of speculations surrounding the tragedy and the unfortunate deaths of the plane's passengers, which include Yevgeny Prigozhin. Notably, these speculations are approached with a distinct perspective in the West. The assertion is that these speculations are entirely fabricated. When discussing this matter, it is crucial to rely solely on factual information, - stated by the Press Secretary of the President of Russia.
The official stance on President Putin's potential attendance at Prigozhin's funeral, should the death be officially confirmed, remains unverified.
Alexander Lukashenko, in his first response to the Embraer business jet incident, noted that he was not responsible for ensuring Prigozhin's personal safety. He also voiced his belief that Vladimir Putin bears no responsibility for the plane crash.
President Lukashenko further emphasized, "I cannot imagine that Putin did this, that Putin is to blame."
"Fontanka" has reported that Vasily Vlasov, a State Duma deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party, has proposed the idea of renaming Zolnaya Street in the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg in honor of Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Interestingly, this location is the site of the so-called "Wagner PMC Center."
