The VI International Festival "Muğam Dünyası" recently concluded in Azerbaijan, with performers from Uzbekistan participating. The festival ran from June 18 to June 25 in Baku and featured 22 musicians from Azerbaijan, Iran, Israel, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan.
Mokhichehra Shomurodova, a renowned performer and senior lecturer at the "Execution of makom" department of the Uzbek National Institute of Music Art named after Yunus Rajabi, emerged as the Grand Prix winner, having previously won both Republican and international competitions.
Shokhjahon Yeriyev took second place, while Dustmurod Negmurodov was awarded third place.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism reported that the prize fund for the festival was €100,000, with €20,000 going to the Grand Prix winner, €15,000 to the first-place winner, €10,000 to the second-place winner, and €5,000 to the third-place winner.
