People's Democratic Party Candidate: Ulugbek Inoyatov
Ulugbek Inoyatov, the presidential candidate from the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has put forward eight significant initiatives, including granting domestic investors equal benefits as foreign investors, digitizing medical services through electronic prescriptions, and expanding the network of legal clinics providing free advice to low-income citizens. Other proposals include the development of green areas and parks, improvement of conditions for individuals with disabilities, and expanding the list of activities considered self-employment.
Liberal Democratic Party candidate: Shavkat Mirziyoyev
Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the candidate from the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, has outlined a range of initiatives. These include achieving 100% coverage for preschool education by 2030, ensuring clean drinking water for all settlements with a budget allocation of $2.5 billion, constructing an additional one million housing units over the next seven years through an allocation of $15 billion, and launching projects with prestigious foreign companies to increase automotive industry production to one million units per year. The candidate also aims to double the gross domestic product to $160 billion by 2030, maintain stable tax rates for businesses, increase the funds allocated to the "Open Budget" program threefold to 24 trillion soums, and provide continuous support for labor migrants and their families, including educational relief for their children. These initiatives form a comprehensive plan for development and progress in various sectors of Uzbekistan's economy and society.
Adolat Party candidate: Robakhan Mahmudova
Robakhan Mahmudova, the candidate from the "Adolat" party, has emphasized economic growth between regions, increasing the number of specialized judges, and strengthening public control in road construction projects. The candidate also aims to support businesses by addressing the responsibility for loan use, developing the institution of advocacy, and granting local councils the right to express no confidence in district mayors. Another key initiative is ensuring deputies spend time with their constituents.
Ecological Party candidate: Abdushukur Hamzayez
Abdushukur Hamzayev, the candidate from the Ecological Party, has proposed initiatives to increase investment attractiveness through the "Green Visa" program, establish minimum green areas in city planning, and gradually reduce the use of packaging products containing single-use plastics. The candidate also suggests promoting car-free days, modernizing wastewater treatment facilities, and implementing measures to enhance transparency in government activities. The "Green Uzbekistan - 2030" program aims to promote pesticide-free practices.
The election campaign for the presidential candidates commenced on June 7, with each candidate allocated $43mn for their campaign activities.
