"Three state banks will remain in Uzbekistan, the rest will be privatized" - says Shavkat Mirziyoyev, candidate for the presidency of Uzbekistan from UzLiDeP, during in his pre-election program.
His speech stated that, until 2030, the following reforms will be carried out:
The annual volume of lending in the banking and financial system will be increased from the current $18bn to $40bn. As well as loans for entrepreneurs will be reduced from an average of 20% to 10-12%.
To achieve these goals:
— The volume of bank deposits will be increased by 4 times (from $6bn to $22.6bn).
— Privatization of banks will be accelerated. Only 3 banks remain at the disposal of the state ("Milliybank", "Halqbank" and "Agrobank");
— An opportunity will be created for at least 4 large and prestigious foreign banks to enter the banking market.
