37-year-old native of Uzbekistan Orzugul Bobohodzhayeva was reportedly elected as a deputy of the Setagaya district assembly in Tokyo (Japan), as announced on her Facebook page.
Orzugul Bobohodjaeva was elected by the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan.
On April 23, the final stage of the elections took place, where the Uzbek woman is said to have won some 6771 votes.
According to reports, Bobohodjaeva graduated from the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies with a degree in Japanese Philology and has been living in Japan for 15 years.
