An Uzbek national was detained in India who was trying to smuggle over 3 kg of gold worth $205,000 to Dubai, the Omcom news portal reports.
Scared of being detained, the contrabandist left the gold hidden in a cart at the Indira Gandhi Airport (Delhi) and fled to Chandigarh, where he was finally detained.
The Indian customs officers found 15 gold chains and 17 pieces of precious metal with a total weight of 3.2 thousand grams in the baggage cart,
The investigation is currently underway.
