Turkey is planning to deliver the first national electric Togg vehicles of exclusively white colour on a special order from Turkmenistan, Turkish media reported.
This was announced by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Çavuşoğlu during a visit to the special Togg stand at an exhibition in Antalya.
"Turkmenistan has asked... Togg is white... Everything there is white, the houses are white, the roads are white, the marble is white... and the cars you will only see there are white..... Turkmenistan has asked for white, and we will send them white cars."
Çavuşoğlu said the special order would take about a month to complete. "It is a very high quality vehicle equipped with everything they need," he added.
The Togg is available in two variants - one with a 200bhp and one with a 400bhp electric motor. The most powerful Togg version is capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.
In Turkmenistan, the unwritten law has long established a tendency towards white, apparently because of the extreme weather conditions. Some argue that white repels the sun's rays, while many scientists find this view to be incorrect.
Yet in 2013, Ashgabat made it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the whitest city in the world.
And the drivers, at the insistence of the traffic police, had to repaint their dark cars white or silver at their own expense. The owners of the car dealership, however, were left on the winning side.
