The Uzbek government intends to launch the My First Home program in the Tashkent region. The project aims to provide the population with affordable housing. A particular housing company will be created under the Ministry of Construction.
Thirty-six hectares of land will be allocated in the Zangiota district to construct fifty-eight apartment buildings, social facilities, and entertainment centers.
Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the population of Tashkent is increasing by 100,000 people each year, and 20,000 new apartments are required annually. This year, it is planned to increase the volume of housing construction by 1.5 times, having built 90,000 housing units.
Also, to reduce the construction cost until 2025, the customs duty on importing wood, plywood, wooden formwork, and glass will be canceled. Due to this, housing construction costs are expected to decrease by 5%.
