Child Rights Ombudsperson Aliya Yunusova is examining the rape case of three pupils in an orphanage in Urgench, Khorezm province, the Ombudsperson’s press service has reported.
'The Children's Ombudsman believes that sexual crimes against children should be punished severely. The child rights representative has taken over the situation and is studying all the documents related to the case', the statement reads.
When asked by the media whether it is planned to remove children from the Khorezm region, the Children’s Ombudsperson said that ‘if necessary, their safety will be ensured.’
