The index of activity of enterprises and protection of brands in February 2023 was announced. Uzbekistan's Center for Economic Research and Reforms shared some insights with "Daryo".
Business activity
The component of operating enterprises stood at 0.8827 units in February 2023, indicating a decrease of 11.7% compared to the previous month.
This indicator significantly decreased by 19.2% compared to the same period last year.
In February 2023, the number of all types of enterprises decreased by 92,795 compared to January 2023 (613,391 units) and amounted to 520,596 units.
The number of large enterprises has decreased to 63.
During the reporting period, the number of small enterprises decreased from 503,804 to 429,031 (a decrease of 74,773).
The number of farms decreased from 105,948 to 87,989 (a decrease of 17,959).
The number of entities engaged in large-scale entrepreneurship amounted to 3,576, down by 63 compared to January.
Brand registration
In February 2023, the trademark protection business activity index was 0.6942 units, and this indicator decreased by 30.6% compared to January of this year.
Also, in February, 252 trademarks and brand names were registered by legal entities.
