Air France, one of the world’s leading airlines, is exploring the possibility of launching direct flights to Uzbekistan. This development was revealed by the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, following discussions between Chairman Umid Shadiev and Air France Commercial Director, Frederic Decors, in Paris.
The two parties have agreed to conduct a joint study to evaluate the feasibility of establishing air routes between France and Uzbekistan. In addition, the collaboration aims to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism offerings on Air France’s platforms, potentially increasing the visibility of the Central Asian nation as a travel destination for French and European tourists.
As part of the broader tourism initiative, a public association of French tourism organizations will work to boost tourist traffic from France and other European countries to Uzbekistan. This cooperation will include the development of new thematic tour routes, marketing campaigns, roadshows, and presentations aimed at highlighting Uzbekistan's rich cultural and historical attractions.
Further strengthening this collaboration, the French delegation also secured an agreement with BBC Studios France to film a special edition of the popular automotive show Top Gear France, featuring Uzbekistan. The episode is expected to be filmed later this year, with the arrival of the French team scheduled for September.
This initiative is part of Uzbekistan’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a key tourist destination in Central Asia, leveraging its unique heritage and growing connectivity.
