Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Ilzat Kasimov met with representatives of Japan’s Sojitz Corporation, with a focus on the company’s plans to expand its activities in Uzbekistan, including the potential establishment of additional multidisciplinary medical centers in the Bukhara and Andijan regions.
According to information presented during the discussions, Sojitz Corporation is currently involved in 12 projects in Uzbekistan with a total value of $5.87bn, including $2.27bn in Japanese investments.
The parties also reviewed the implementation status of the roadmap signed in August 2025, with attention given to ongoing infrastructure, energy, and healthcare initiatives.
Among the projects discussed were the construction of the new Tashkent International Airport, a major medical facility in Samarkand, and a 1,000 MW wind power project in the Navoi region.
Following the discussions, Sojitz Corporation confirmed plans for its senior management to participate in the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, where further investment opportunities are expected to be reviewed.
